James Grand Howland Obituary (Age 89) James was born February 8, 1929 in Spokane to Clarence �Jim� and Kathryn Howland. He graduated from North Central High School and attended Eastern Washington University for two years. James the joined the United States Navy, where he served during the Korean Conflict. After his Naval career, James began his 34-year career with Pacific Northwest Bell. In June of 1953 he married his love Annette Krom to whom he was married until his passing. Jim had a passion for model railroading and electronics. He once built a television from scratch. James was a member of Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge, and Shriners for 50 plus years. He was also a volunteer greeter at the Shrine Hospital in Spokane for many years. James was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter K�Anne. He is survived by his wife Annette of Spokane, son Chuck (Annette) of Spokane, granddaughter Tiffany of Spokane, grandson Tyler (Anna) of Puyallup, and great-grandson Kellan of Puyallup. Per his request, no public services will be held. A time to remember will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner�s Hospital in Spokane.
