July 22nd, 1965 - July 6th, 2026

James Patrick Aloysius Timothy Frisbee Reinland—known to all simply as Pat—passed away July 6, 2026. Born in Dayton WA, on July 22, 1965, Pat spent most of his life in Spokane.

Pat never fit into a standard box. After a short stint in the corporate world Pat decided he would rather work outside and entered home construction and remodeling, which he did for 10 years. He also enjoyed building his own furniture. Pat felt tremendous satisfaction building functional and beautiful pieces with his own hands. Many of his pieces have stood the test of time and still live in all his family’s homes.

Pat returned to school in his mid-thirties to become a school counselor. A blessing of his second stint in college was being diagnosed with dyslexia. That diagnosis changed Pat's world, explaining lifelong struggles with school. He now loved school and learning.

As a school counselor, he offered steady guidance and good humor. He enjoyed helping his students find their paths. He often told them that anything they were dealing with, or holding back, he already knew because he’d done it himself.

Pat’s personality was a rare mix of witty, charming, and just mischievous enough to keep everyone on their toes. Being around him meant feeling welcomed, entertained, and part of a friendship that mattered. He formed strong bonds—lasting ones—because he showed up with sincerity, loyalty and always a sense of fun. Pat was simply someone people felt comfortable around, someone who made conversations easier and days lighter.

Pat was an animal lover. He had an easy way with them, offering comfort, companionship, and a soft spot in his heart for any creature that needed a little kindness. Pat treated animals with the same warmth he gave people.

Pat is survived by brothers Michael (Lisa), Andrew (Christine), sister Tracy Peterson, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. Pat leaves behind many family, friends, and a community that will miss his humor, and his friendship.

There will be a celebration of Pat’s life September 1st, 2026, at noon, held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Spokane.

In remembrance of Pat please make donations to Spokane Humane Society.
