Jane Anne (Schonaerts) O'Hara Obituary (Age 68) Of Spokane, a beloved mother, sister, grand-mother, and friend passed to eternal rest on January 11, 2014 in Spokane. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:30pm on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 North Government Way with Pastor Happy Watkins of the New Hope Baptist Church officiating. Jane was born in Ft. Smith, AR to A.P. and M.L. Schonaerts on March 31, 1945. Her parents moved Jane and her two younger brothers from Arkansas to various cities in the Southwest in the early 1950s. The family settled in Phoenix in 1959. She attended high school at Xavier College Prep in Phoenix, AZ and then went on to graduate from the University of Arizona with her BS in Nursing. She married Robert O'Hara in 1967, and worked as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery and NICUs throughout many hospitals in AZ and northern CA. Jane become the Director of Women's Services in Pocatello, ID in 1992. In 1995 she moved to Spokane, WA and become the Director of Women and Children's Services at Holy Family Hospital until her retirement in 2009. Jane was loved throughout the community and her infectious laugh brought a smile to everyone. Jane is survived by her three children, Patrick O'Hara (Cinde) of Scottsdale, AZ, Kathy Worden (Eric) of Spokane, WA, and Jim O'Hara (Kristena) of Boston, MA; two brothers, Phillip (Claire) Schonaerts of Phoenix, AZ, and Jim (Jackie) Schonaerts of Scottsdale, AZ. Jane was the loving and proud grandmother of six grandchildren Ryan, Dylan, Brynn, Evan, Mickayla, and Eoin. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Cheryl Reeves A.R.N.P., Drs. Janout, Vishwanath, Obermiller, and ICU nurse, Shari. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Phoenix Children's Hospital, in honor of Zoe Schonaerts (Jane's great-niece).
