Janet Sharon Mudd Obituary (Age 78) Janet Sharon Mudd died at her home on September 7, 2017 in Spokane WA of kidney failure, after a long battle with kidney disease. She was 78. Janet was born to Henry and Olga Hoffman on January 1, 1939 in Cornelius, OR and had one sister, Darlene Palmquist of Forest Grove, OR. Her parents emigrated from Canada along with Janets numerous Aunts and Uncles. She attended school in Cornelius, OR. Janet married Emmitt Mudd of Bardstown, Kentucky on May 12, 1963 in Hillsboro, OR, who was a lifetime Navy man and from then on, traveled from coast to coast, typical for a military family. Janet received a Certificate of Merit from the US Navy when her husband retired in 1974 for supporting him throughout his Navy Career. Janet worked different jobs throughout her life but her primary job was wife and homemaker. Janet loved nature and the outdoors. She could often be found with a fishing pole in her hand or feeding and taking care of various animals that the family had, or her children or husband would bring home. She loved gardening and was a wonderful cook. Her fried chicken will be missed. She is survived by her husband, Emmitt Mudd and four daughters; Susan Smith of Modesto, CA, Darla Mudd of Portland, OR, Tamela Mudd of Kelso, WA, and Pamela Rojas of Granger, WA, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Mudd and a grandson, Derek Smith due to unfortunate automobile accidents.
