Janette Marie Goehner Obituary
On Saturday, July 30, 2011, Jan passed away peacefully. Jan, the only child of Rueben and Lucille Goehner, was born in Ellensburg in February of 1951. The family later moved to Spokane, where Jan graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1969. She earned her Bachelor?s and Master?s degrees from Eastern Washington University. She began her career at Anacortes High School as a Business Education teacher. She later returned to Spokane to teach at Trend Business College. In 1985, she joined DSHS as a clerk in Social Security Disability. Over 26 years with the Department, she rose to Supervisor of Adjudicators. Jan was named the Medical Assistant Administration Outstanding Employee of the Year in 2002. She was an active member of Shiloh Hills Fellowship Church, Alpha Iota Sorority and The Christian Motorcyclists Association. Jan is survived by her aunt, Leah Goehner of Spokane and many cousins. She leaves behind her close friends and colleagues. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 18th at 3:00 pm at Shiloh Hills Fellowship, 207 E Lincoln Rd., Spokane WA 99208. In Jan?s memory, please bring a bag of non-perishable groceries for The Moody Storehouse at Shiloh Hills.
