Spokane — Janie I. Richardson (Forbes), 75, passed away on March 18, 2025, in Spokane, WA. Born on November 18, 1949, Janie spent her life immersed in the community and the lives of those she loved.

A graduate of Shadle Park High School, Janie worked diligently throughout her life, contributing significantly to Reierson Steel in the 70s and 80s, Common Grounds in the 90s, and Bucks Tire in the 2000s until her retirement in 2015. Her work ethic and dedication to her roles were deeply admired by her colleagues and friends.

Janie was known for her vibrant personality and her ability to bring joy and laughter to any gathering. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler and snow skier, passions that reflected her love for life and active spirit. Later, she enjoyed word searches, puzzles, and card games, always keen to engage in playful competition. Her enthusiasm for Gonzaga Basketball and WSU Football kept her spirits high during the sports seasons.

Janie leaves behind a loving family who cherished every moment spent with her: her son Bill, stepson Dana, her partner Jay Harrison, and her brothers Bill, Kerm, and Mike. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Bob Forbes.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor in May. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Spokane, an organization close to Janie’s heart.
