Jean Iris (Kreager) Oas Obituary (Age 93) Together Again Jean passed away September 2, 2011. She was born in Spokane on May 26, 1918 to Ethel and Versal Kreager whose parents were early pioneers coming to Spokane via covered wagons. She graduated from North Central High School, then went to work at Baxter Hospital and Johnson?s Coffee Shop during the war effort. Jean married Elmer Oas in 1941, he was a Spokane fireman and a local musician. She is preceded in death by her husband Elmer, parents Versal and Ethel, brother Jack Kreager, sisters June Buster, Eloise Von Lehe and Donna Stelting as well as her niece Joanne Hartman and nephew Richard Kreager. She is survived by her loving family including her son Larry Oas, daughter Cheryl Guglomo, brothers Ray Kreager (Betty), Dale Kreager (Carolyn), grandchildren Christopher Stearn, Elizabeth Smith (Khari) and Michelle Wright (Michael), great-grandchildren; Khari Smith II, Brendan Wright and Alexis Wright, step-granddaughter Marlana Leestma as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jean and Elmer were members of Messiah Lutheran Church. The family wishes to thank Manor Care staff for the excellent care and comfort given to our mother. Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 7 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A celebration of Jean?s life will be Friday, September 9 at 3:00 pm at Heritage Funeral home with a reception to follow. Interment will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
