October 13, 1944 - April 29, 2018
Jean Marie Fleetwood Obituary Jean was born October 13, 1944 in Mound, MN to Norman and Florence Yule. She married Richard A. Fleetwood January 1, 1963 and together they raised four children (Shelly, Rebecca, Cathy and Rick), and welcomed fourteen grandchildren (Amanda and Jessica, Katie, Brandon and Connor, Cory, Jason and Tanis, Aaron, Kiera, Elijah, Emily, Garrett and Logan) and four great-grandchildren (Owen, Trevor, Jaelynn and Emmett). Dick and Jean moved from Minnesota to Spokane in 1966, where Jean was a dedicated homemaker, in-home daycare provider, and later Assistant Manager at the VFW Post 1474 Bingo Hall in Hillyard. Her hobbies included crocheting, cross-stitch, reading, bowling, and watching hockey, as well as cards and games of all kinds. She enjoyed old westerns on tv and throughout the years she was famous for grousing "I'm watching that!" when someone mistook her snoring as an invitation to change the channel. Jean loved Christmas and went out of her way to establish and maintain many family traditions. There was no such thing as "too much" when it came to decorating the yard! Jean passed away April 29, 2018 surrounded by family, and was welcomed home by her parents, beloved aunts and uncles, and numerous extended family and friends. Memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Home, Spokane, with a potluck gathering following the service. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Jean, please visit our Tree Store.
