Jean Swindler Obituary Jean Irene Czarnec Swindler was the fifth born of ten children. She was born on May 30, 1929, in Manchester, New Hampshire to first generation immigrant parents from Russia and Poland. Jean graduated from The University of Pennsylvania with a nursing degree in 1952. Jean began her career as a surgical operating room nurse. She later performed research with her husband, Daris Ray Swindler, Ph.D., at The Medical College of South Carolina. Moving to Washington in 1968, she continued her career as an office manager of a dental office in Lake Forest Park, Washington. She retired from the research division of the University of Washington Department of OB-GYN. Jean moved to Spokane in 1999 to be closer to her children. She worked diligently for many years at The Food Bank of Spokane and Meals-On-Wheels. Jean was active in her church home, Manito Presbyterian Church, participating in ongoing church activities. Her church family will miss her. Her five loving children survive Jean: Darece Swindler of Spokane, Linda Venters and her husband, Dr. Wayne B. Venters of Spokane, Dana Swindler of Minneapolis, Bruce Swindler and his wife, Lisa Swindler of Warden, and Geoffrey Swindler of Spokane. Her six grandchildren live in Leavenworth, Washington; Moses Lake Washington; Warden, Washington; Grenoble, France; Columbia, South Carolina; and Tucson, Arizona. A memorial service for Jean will be held at Manito Presbyterian Church 401 E. 30th Ave. on January 13, 2018 at 1:00. Please send all donations to Because There Is Hope, 4711 N.
