Jennifer Lela Hussey Obituary Jennifer Lela Mildred Hussey, age 40, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Hospice House of North Idaho. Jennifer died from complications associated with a prolonged illness. Jennifer was born in Seattle, WA on June 26, 1975, to Mr. Glenn Hussey and Mrs. Deborah Hussey of Everett, WA. Jennifer attended and graduated from the Everett High School. Jennifer attended Eastern Washington University and earned the following degrees: Bachelor in Liberal Arts in 1999, Masters in History in 2004 and Masters in Public Administration in 2007. Jennifer was the Vice President for Finance (1998-1999) for the ASEWU and a chartering member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority chapter at Eastern Washington University. Jennifer worked for Premera Blue Cross in Spokane, WA as a Plan Representative from September 2008 to January 2016. Jennifer also worked for Employment Screening Services in Spokane, WA from May 2000 to May 2008. Jennifer spent most of her childhood in Everett, Washington. As a young girl, she also lived in Orient, WA where she developed her love for history. Jennifer committed much her free time, in the last couple of years, conducting historic preservation research for the town of Orient. Additionally, Jennifer lived in the West Central Neighborhood of Spokane, WA. She enjoyed the community she lived in and held several positions on the West Central Neighborhood Council and Planning Committee that helped promote the care, development and preservation of the neighborhood community. Jennifer was dedicated to community service and service to others. Jennifer gave much of her free time to volunteering for organizations that helped promote the values she believed in. Jennifer was a chair for the Make A Splash program through the Spokane Parks Foundation, a committee member for the Health Foods Corner Store, a team sponsor chair for Relay for Life, a volunteer for United Way projects and Meals Under the Bridge. Jennifer was a 2015 board member for the Spokane County United Way Emerging Leaders Society and was a mentor for the Mentoring Children with Promise program. Jennifer had a wide variety of interests that she passionately pursued during her time with us. Jennifer loved collecting antiques, participating in historical perseveration research and activities and traveling to historical places. She loved to travel, world cuisine, reading, going to the movies and concerts. Most of all she loved taking care of her family, friends and the community in which she lived. Jennifer is survived by her loving parents, Glenn and Deborah Hussey of Everett, WA; sister, Yvonne Hussey and Yvonne�s partner, John Robinson of Kent, WA; brother, Dustin Hussey of Everett, WA; nephews, Jordan Sears of Des Moines, WA, Tyler Moore of Kent, WA, Jonathan Ray Robinson of Kent, WA, Austin Joe Robison of Kent, WA and one niece, Brenda Jean Robinson of Kent, WA and Godsons, David Laurence Delaney of Cheney, WA, Colby James Emerson Brock of Cheney, WA and Austin Farwell of Pullman, WA. Memorial services to honor Jennifer will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
