Jerald "Jerry" G. Erickson Obituary (Age 80) Lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer complicated by H1N1 flu and Pseudomonas on February 5, 2010 in Spokane, WA. He was born to Robert W. and Margaret E. (Rader) Erickson on March 11, 1929 in Genesee, Idaho. He came to Spokane with his family at the age of 14 and graduated from John R. Rogers High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954. Followed by working on a wheat and cattle ranch in Ritzville WA. He met his future wife Sharon Nauditt at a Grange Dance and they were married June 8, 1956. June 1957 brought Jerry and Sharon to Spokane where he started a career with Standard Oil of California. Jerry had Erickson's Northtown Chevron for many years, and worked for various chevron dealers. An accident and injury ended his career in 1984. He loved to fish and hunt and tied many many flies in his spare time. The fish feared him for he had a knack of catching them that few people know. He followed almost all sports and knew the statistics for many players and teams. Jerry was a past member of the Inland Empire Fly Fishing Club and a Past Chief Ranger of The Independent Order of Foresters. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather. His Christmas cookies were always a big hit and everyone waited with eager anticipation for them. He is survived by his wife Sharon; daughters Sandra Patano and Dr. Jack Riggs; Coeur d'Alene, ID; Susan (Tim) Burger, Spokane Valley, WA; Stacy (Rick) Duclos, Suncrest, WA; Mike Patano, Coeur d' Alene, ID; grandchildren Chris (Ariel) Patano, Seattle, WA; Jordan Patano, Coeur d' Alene, ID; Matthew (Rhonda) Ellyson, Salem, OR; Mardi (Aaron) Williamson, Spokane Valley, WA; Renee (Mark) Williamson, Spokane, WA; Casey Duclos, Suncrest, WA; and Ryan Duclos, Suncrest, WA; great-grandchildren Samantha Ellyson, Salem, OR; Phaydra, Caehlin, and Quincy Williamson, Spokane Valley, WA; Niko Patano, Seattle, WA,; and Taylor Williamson, Spokane, WA. Jerry is also survived by his sister Joy Polione, Spokane, WA; brother, Melvin (Jim) Erickson, Sumner, WA; sister-in-law Patricia Erickson, Spokane, WA; mother-in-law Thelma Nauditt, Spokane Valley, WA; and brother-in-law David (Patricia) Nauditt, Renton, WA; numerous nieces and nephews and an extended family of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert A Erickson; brother-in-law, Rubie May, Jr; father-in-law, Lawrence Nauditt; and long time best friend Floyd (Cap) Amsden. Jerry had a lot of friends and will be missed by all who knew him. He will also be missed by his loving pug Tillie and her sister Molly. He was the light of their lives. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Corliss Newman at Rockwood Oncology Clinic, Providence Sacred Heart Hospital ICU and Medical and Regency at Northpointe and their outstanding staffs for taking such wonderful care of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was definitely in good hands guided by our Heavenly Father. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 1:00, pm at All Saints Lutheran Church, 314 S. Spruce St, Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested for Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA, 99210; any of the animal shelters in your area for the rescue of pets; or a charity of your choice.
