Jerry Richard Courser (Age 88) of Spokane Washington passed away April 19, 2026. Jerry was born February 19, 1938, in Spokane WA. As a kid he helped around the home and on the farms of his numerous family members. He attended Gonzaga Preparatory high school, and he worked at the corner gas station. Jerry and three other friends started the, still existing to this day, "Spokane Canoe Club."
Jerry married his wife of 67 years, Joyce, on October 31, 1959. Yes Halloween, we were told they didn't even think about the date. He had two children and moved to Pullman WA, in 1962.
Jerry loved to work hard and he loved the outdoors. He worked at the WSU Print shop in the bindery area where he worked his way up from an apprentice to supervisor. He retired after 30 years there. Jerry was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Pullman and retired after 25 years. He painted houses in his spare time and built a camper in the back of his 1962 International pick-up truck, taking his family out camping and fishing. He was a Baseball Coach, Cub Scout and Webelos Den Leader. But most of all he was Dad, Papa, or Big Papa just enjoying life with his family and always having a smile or helping hand for his friends or neighbors!
Jerry is survived by his Wife, Joyce. His Sister Kay Elliott. His Son Richard and Granddaughter Kayla. His Son Timothy Courser, and Wife Elizabeth, Grandson Jarred Courser, Wife Megan, and Great Granddaughter Aleesia. Grandson Matthew Churilla, Wife Emily and their children Elizabeth and Alexander.
