May 18, 1950 - September 24, 2010

Jerry Rodger Shoemaker Obituary Jerry was born May 18, 1950 in Chelan, WA to Gladys and Allan Shoemaker. He graduated from Manson High School in 1968, and moved to Spokane shortly thereafter. He went to work for Wally Taylor at Empire Boring and was employed there until Wally's death in 1993. Most recently he was employed by Tunnel Systems. Jerry died suddenly September 24, in Spokane, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Allan Shoemaker; two brothers, Terry and Ramon and two sisters, Judeth and Ruby. He is survived by his sister and companion, Luana and Jr of Moses Lake, two nephews and a niece, Zach, Rick, and Melissa Forest, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will surely miss him and everything he brought into their lives. Jerry had a knack for befriending people, and will be missed. He helped people, and didn't expect anything in return, but he picked good friends; they gave him back as much as he gave! Jerry was an entrepreneur of treasures and useful things. If you couldn't find it, he either had it or knew where you could get it, and would do his best to help you get it. Jerry was always there for any person in need, and never turned one away. He was active in the Chief Garry Neighborhood Park Council. A memorial service will be held for Jerry on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 4 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. There will be a photo board so if you have any photos you would like to share with the family and friends, please bring them. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
