October 17, 1936 - June 16, 2017

Joan Marie Wissink Obituary (Age 80) Moved to heaven June 16, 2017 in Spokane, WA. She was born October 17, 1936 to George and Evelyn Seifried, in Chewelah, WA. Joan attended Jenkins High School in Chewelah, WA, graduating in 1954. While in school she met the love of her life, Donald L. Wissink. They were married December 27, 1954. Joan and Don moved to Spokane in 1955 where they have resided for 62 years. Joan enjoyed camping, card parties with the neighbors, bowling with her girlfriends, playing her organ, and watching sports. But her favorite pastime was spending summers at the lake. Waitts Lake was their summer home for 10 years, then Deer Lake at Sunrise Point for over 30 years. Joan worked hard her entire life, working in a variety of different jobs. Of all of the positions she held, her greatest joy was the people she worked with. She is survived by her husband, Don, children Steve (Tess) Wissink of Spokane, Craig (Melinda) Wissink of Kentucky, Kate (Scott) Lund of Spokane, sisters Patty Christian and Donna Norman, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her faithful dog, Rascal. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 am, at St Josephs Catholic Church, 3720 E. Colbert Rd, Colbert, WA. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Spokane. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, or the charity of your choice.
