Joanne Leora Walls Schauer Obituary (Age 77) Her greatest legacy is love, and that love touched the lives of all she met...it lives on even as she has finished her earthly journey. Joanne Leora Walls Schauer, born January 6, 1932 in Wallace, Idaho, joined our precious Lord and Savior on December 21, 2009 just in time to for her best Christmas ever celebrating Jesus' birthday at His side. Our mother was a devoted member of Spokane's First Presbyterian Church for many years where she served on the Library Committee, ushered at the early service, was part of her TLC group and several Bible studies. Joanne was a highly regarded Office Manager in her years before retirement. She loved to read, to work in her garden, to shop and she loved beautiful things. Joanne was a devoted wife to Leonard for almost 52 years until he preceded her in death four years ago. She was a loving and dedicated mother of two daughters, LeeAnn Schauer Hawkins of Missoula, MT and Suzy Schauer McLay of Spokane, WA. She also leaves son-in-law Thomas Hawkins of Missoula, MT, six grandchildren, Abraham Thomas Hawkins, Lucas Adam Hawkins, Erica Christine Johnson, Jessica Leigh Loveland, Lacey Anne Hawkins and Stephen Cole Warmoth; two great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Mia Jo; and three sisters Marilyn Buckham, Barbara Maple and Robynn Duncan. You will be greatly missed by all who knew you, Mama! A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 9 at 1:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice House of Spokane in Joanne's name. Their love and gentle care is an amazing gift during the final days. God bless them.
