John Aaron Grigsby Obituary (Age 92) Of Spokane, WA passed away November 21, 2011 in Spokane. John was born January 9, 1919 in Elmer, Missouri to John and Vanita Grigsby. He moved west during the Great Depression settling in Tekoa, WA. John married Anna Fern Griner in 1941 and they had five sons. The family moved to Spokane in1945. Employed by Garrett Freight Lines for 36 years, John spent most of his career driving back and forth to Great Falls, MT. John retired in 1981 and in 1986 he married Betty Bell. His great love was his involvement in Gentlemen On Horseback and his horses. John participated in more than 20 rides including a ride from Rosalia to Olympia. John is survived by his wife, Betty, at home; sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and Barbara Grigsby, Rudy and Linda Grigsby, Bill and Tove Grigsby, Ken and Teddy Bell, Larry and Carolyn Bell, and Duane Bell and daughter, Carol Bell. Other survivors include 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his sons, Mark and Larry Grigsby and grandsons, William and Larry Grigsby and wife, Anna Fern Grigsby. Funeral services will be held Friday November 25, 2011 at 9am at Heritage Funeral Home, Spokane with burial to follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to The Union Gospel Mission at PO Box 4066, Spokane, WA 99220.
