John Edward Holloway Obituary (Age 87) John passed away on September 4, 2016 at Cheney Care Center in Cheney, WA. He was born on February 16, 1929 in Eagleville, MO to John and Vera (Stuck) Holloway. John was the youngest of 7 children and the son of an Iowa farmer. He went to school in Dunlap, IA and received a GED while in the military. John then entered the US Army on May 16, 1947 and served one tour of combat in Korea as a convoy guard. On May 16, 1950 he left the Army and joined the US Air Force. His duties in the Air Force included Air Police, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Specialist and First Sergeant. Also during his career in the Air Force, he was stationed in England, Korea, Thailand, Idaho, Wisconsin, Colorado, Oregon and Washington ST and is a veteran of both Korean and Vietnam Wars. While in England, John met and married Anne B. Bannister (preceded John in death April 29, 2015) on March 16, 1955. John retired on May 21, 1974 at the rank of MSGT, serving a total of 27 and a half years in the military. After John�s military career, he was also a welder, private investigator, maintenance technician for Circle K, Airway Heights Building Inspector, Director of Public Works for Airway Heights, Reserve Police Officer for Airway Heights and an Airway Heights Council Member. John was a member of the Spokane El Katif Shriners, Cheney and Medical Lake Masonic Lodges, Shriners Palomino Patrol, Airway Heights VFW and was a volunteer at the Washington State Veteran�s Cemetery. John enjoyed leatherwork, reading, bowling, riding horses, fishing, hunting, flying R/C airplanes and building models. He loved his dogs Frisky and Lucky. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Vera Holloway; four sisters Ruth Summerfield, Nellie Mae Russianno, Lena �Maxine� Elliot, Lila �Margaret� Holloway; one brother Walter �Merle� Holloway; son Anthony Holloway (JoAnn) and daughter Sallyanne Holloway. He is survived by his brother Donald �Buster� Holloway of Dunlap, IA; sons Richard (Julee), Paul (Cindy), Warren, Tracy and a plethora or grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
