John George Wells

December 07, 1930 - April 19, 2011

John George Wells Obituary The support from friends to our family has been appreciated during George's long trial with dementia which ended April 19th. George was a wonderful husband, loving dad and papa, printer, trumpet player, volunteer firefighter, builder, hockey player, snow and water skier, fisherman, and hunter. He enjoyed the many friends he made doing these things he loved. George was born on December 7, 1930 in Edmonton, Alberta and moved to Spokane with his wife, Eileen, of 56 years in 1957 where they raised their two daughters, Brenda Tully and Lori Wells Boyer. For the past several years George slowly slipped away but managed to maintain his smile and giggle. George is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, Michelle and Brian Tully, and two sons-in-law, Gerald W. Tully and Donald M. Boyer, who were all very special in his life. He also leaves behind in Edmonton, Alberta his sister-in-law Marie and her husband Maurice Murch, and many relatives. His extended family at the Glen and Harbor Crest were special to him and the family extends their deepest gratitude and thanks for the care George received. George enjoyed working at the Chronicle/Review for 37 years and upon retiring in 1994 proudly moved with Eileen to the home they built at Lake Coeur d'Alene. Music was a big part of George's life and he loved the big band sound. A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Church (located at 1717 W. 6th Avenue) on Saturday, April 23rd at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in George's honor to Christ the King Church, Worley Fire Association or Hospice of Spokane.
