John Harold Dempsey Obituary (Age 90) John passed away February 27, 2013. He was born May 19, 1922 in Spokane, where he has lived his entire life, to Jeremiah and Elma Dempsey. He graduated from Rogers High School then enlisted in the Navy where he served four years during World War II. On December 27, 1966 John married Marylou Eagan. After his time in the Navy he became a truck driver for the Crescent Department store for 38 years. John loved sail boating and was a member of the Teamsters Union and was a lifetime member of both the VFW Post 1474 and Jack's & Jenny's Square Dance Club. John is survived by his wife of 46 years Marylou of Spokane, stepson Thomas Carine, Spokane, sister Gerry Boston, Spokane Valley, brother Elmer Dempsey, Rathdrum, ID, close friend Butch Knapp, as well as his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Randall Dempsey and brother Elton Dempsey. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Minnehaha Covenant Church, 4005 E. Marietta, Spokane, WA 99217.
