John "Jack" Jesberger Obituary John "Jack" Jesberger, age 86, surrounded by family passed away in Spokane, WA on April 29, 2015. Born September 6, 1928 in Seattle, WA and grew up in Walla Walla, WA. Jack attended St. Patrick's Catholic School where he met the love of his life and future mother of his eight children, Delores Maccarone. Jack married his High School sweetheart in 1948 and just last year he and Delores celebrated their sixty sixth wedding anniversary. Jack's greatest joys in life were centered around family, his love of gardening and carpentry. He always had a project he was working on. Jack worked numerous jobs as a boy from milk bottle runner to paper delivery to ice cream sales via a Cushman scooter. After High School, Jack joined the U.S. Navy which began a 40 year career in the U.S. military (Navy, National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve). Jack returned to Walla Walla with his growing family in 1951 where he worked numerous jobs from J.C. Penney window decorator to a successful career as an Insurance Agent. There was very little he wouldn't do to support his family working more than one job at a time. The Jesberger family of ten moved to Spokane, WA in 1971 where Jack eventually retired as a Sergeant Major and Commanding Officer of Joe E. Mann Hall, Army Reserve Center in 1987. Jack is survived by his wife Delores and eight children: Carol VonBrethorst (Mike), Katherine Hanlon (Don), Cyndi Lentz (Rob), Janice Gray, Gregory Jesberger, Mary Brown (Mike), Sandy Weise (Robin), and John Jesberger, 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grand- children and one great-great grandchild with one on the way. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Meng (Ken), and Maureen Kirby. Services will be held Friday, May 8th, 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Presentation Catholic Church, 602 E. 6th St., Deer Park, WA 99006. Interment with Military Honors at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane, WA.
