John P. Honcharuk Obituary (Age 92) John was born March 22, 1918, in Brooklyn, NY, and passed away October 24, 2010. He came out west with the CCC's in 1938, and enlisted in the Navy on October, 1941. He retired 30 years later as a Lieutenant Commander. He served on the USS Bon Home Richard, USS Phil Sea, and the USS Ranger. He married Ruby Bliesner in 1942. After his Navy career John and Ruby, with Navy friends, traveled the world. John is survived by his loving wife, Ruby, sister-in-law Leora Hall, nephew Dick Piersol (Nancy), niece Sharon Mix (Larry), niece Janet Johnson, good friend Gordon Smith, as well as other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, parents, sister, and his sister-in-law, Wilma Piersol. At John's request a private service will be held for immediate family only. The family wishes to thank the staff, especially the aides, for their support and care at Moran Vista.
