John Robert Schultz Obituary (Age 87) Passed away June 29, 2012. He was born April 5, 1925 in Spokane to Harry F. and Eunice Schultz-Gardner. He graduated from Rogers H.S. in 1943 and had basic training at Farragut Naval Station and retired from the US Navy as an E7 Chief Petty Officer/Aviation Fire Control Tech in 1965. He started work at Kaiser Trentwood and was transferred to Kaiser Center For Technology working as a research technician until he retired in 1980 and moved back to WA state where he built his own "dream home" overlooking Roosevelt Lake. He was the type of person that never stopped working. After working at Davenport Hospital as the maintenance person he established a very large peach orchard on the property called "River Roost". People from far and wide came to taste his wonderful peaches. He was a member of the American Legion and the NRA. His hobbies included boating, reading, woodcarving, hunting, ping pong and restored his 1957 Dodge pick-up. John is survived by his children Larry L. Schultz, Cynthia A. Schultz, Gary L. Schultz and Linda R. Schafer; grandchildren Ian S. Bechtold, Amy L. Bechtold, Chad E. Schafer and Megan Schultz; great-grandchildren Avalon, Trinity, Serenity and Kaylyn; his brother William Schultz (Sherryl). He was preceded in death by Phyllis A. Schultz-Drake (wife of 54 years), Florence Tinsley (2nd wife), brother Larry E. Schultz, sister Rose Bowen and his faithful dog Thumper. Memorial Service 2:00PM Saturday July 14, 2012 at Heritage Chapel.
