John William "Jack" Pearce Obituary
Jack was born on December 18, 1936, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington, to William and Carrie Pearce. After a long and progressive illness, Jack passed away peacefully in his home on December 12, 2017, with his family by his side. Jack graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane before attending and graduating from the University of Washington, and the University of Washington Foster School of Business and Pacific Coast Banking School. Jack began his banking career at Seattle First National Bank (now merged into Bank of America), becoming a Vice President in commercial loans. In 1977, Jack accepted a position at Washington Trust Bank where he served over twenty four years until his retirement in 2001 as Senior Vice President, Commercial Loan Division. Jack was passionate about spending time with his family and friends, and particularly enjoyed golf, fishing, snow skiing and annual winter trips to Maui and Palm Desert, CA. The family has many fond memories of ski trips, vacations, and time together at family cabins on Deer Lake, Loon Lake and Coeur dAlene Lake. Jack was very active in the Spokane community including serving as a Board member of the Athletic Round Table, and the Exchange Club in Downtown Spokane where Jack was a past-President. Jack was a long time member of the Spokane Club where he was a Board member and past-President, and a Legend member of Manito Golf & Country Club where he served as a Board member and was past-Treasurer. Jack is survived by Elizabeth (Liz), his wife of 56 years, his two sons John (and his wife Nancy, residing in Scottsdale, Arizona), and Patrick (residing in Seattle, Washington), and his four grand-children: Patrick, Hannah, and Bridgett with son John, and Cameron with son Patrick. Jack is also survived by his brother Ron (and wife Ellen) of Monarch Beach, California, his sister Susan (and husband Mike) of Nine Mile Falls, Washington, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family is extremely grateful for the support of friends, and the compassionate care and kindness provided by Natosha, Debbie, and Diane of Dementia Care Solution, and by Hospice of Spokane. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustines Church (428 West 19th Avenue, Spokane) where Jack was a member, immediately followed by a lunch reception at Manito Golf & Country Club (5303 South Hatch Road, Spokane) from 11:30 to 1:30. Jacks family suggests any memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Spokane (P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210) or the Lewy Body Dementia Association (www.lbda.org).
