Jon Sanford Berquist Obituary (Age 53) Jon was born December 13, 1960 in Seattle, WA and passed away in a tragic accident May 21, 2014 in Spokane. He is survived by the love of his life, Laurie, his wife of 11 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Zachary Jon in 2004. He is survived by his children: Cassandra ?Hoot? (husband Nick) Berquist-Tilson and Christopher ?Fats? Berquist; grandchildren Preston and Maddison; brother Eric (wife Julie); parents Charles and Leona Berquist and numerous nieces and nephews. He attended Kent-Meridian High School and studied at Green River Community College. He worked as an armed officer at the Thomas S. Foley United States Courthouse from 2001 to present. He met his wife, Laurie who also worked at the Thomas S. Foley US Courthouse for 16 years. They married in 2003 and he escorted her every day to and from the post office. Co-workers referred to them as Johan and the Princess. Jon?s passion was fly-fishing. It brought him great peace and joy to take his many fishing buddies to his favorite fishing spot, Rockyford. He also enjoyed taking long drives, motorcycle riding, and barbequing his famous Bleu Cheese Burgers. His favorite quote was ?Most people don?t know what they want, they?re just sure they don?t have it? yet.? Jon was an amazing husband, father, son, brother and friend. He always stood up for the less fortunate. Everyone who met him always walked away with a huge smile. Jon had an incredible sense of humor. He always had all of us rolling on the floor laughing. He was a great listener and always there for everyone. He was an irreplaceable man and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We all have a place in our heart that will never be filled. ?Until we meet again you kid!? I love you, you honey you.
