Joyce Cumpton (Bartroff)

Joyce Cumpton (Bartroff) was born in Chesaw, Washington on December 21, 1935 to Neal and Hazel Bartroff. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 20, 2025.

She married Larry Cumpton on November 21, 1954. Once her children were raised, she went to Spokane Community College and then worked in a medical office until her retirement. The legacy she leaves us is her unwavering kindness, and belief in everyone. She never had a harsh word for or about anyone.

She was proceeded in death by Larry in May of 1995. She is survived by her daughters and

sons-in-law, Carol and Kevin Llewellyn and Diane and Ray Starkey; three grandchildren, Nicole Starkey, Chelsea (Jeff) Mossburgh and Andrew (Mary Catherine) Starkey; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Zoe, Leo, Ren, Ellie and Hunter; one sister Jane Ekleberry, and two brothers, Larry Bartroff and Jim Bartroff.

A celebration of life with be held at Heritage Funeral Home located 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA on Friday, March 14th at 11:00am.
