Joyce Maxine (Rindero) Scher was born to Paul and Fern Rindero in Twin Falls, Idaho, on July 12, 1928. She peacefully left this world to go to her heavenly home on September 26, 2026.

Joyce’s family moved around during her younger years. She graduated from Everett High School in 1946, where she played the violin and her brother, Paul, played the accordion, sometimes performing together to earn extra money.

Joyce worked many secretarial jobs, including at True’s Oil Company and Exchange Lumber Co in Spokane, as a Seafirst bank teller and credit manager in Auburn, and with Kelly Girls.

Her passion was not for material things. She was a Godfearing, Christ-centered woman. God first, family second, and then anyone she came in contact with. She was always concerned about everyone else before herself, including right up to her passing. Joyce’ s thoughtfulness included always mailing birthday, anniversary, and many other cards to all the children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and many friends. She always thoughtfully picked the best cards with each person in mind.

Joyce was a member of Country Homes Christian church for 35 years. She served as an Elder, sang in the choir, and attended many classes there. She also started a very well-attended exercise class that met at the church. She actually led the class right up until her early 90s.

Joyce passed peacefully in her sleep on September 26, 2026, at age 98, having spent the day surrounded by her family. She wanted to be remembered for being a good and loving Mother. She was.

She is survived by daughters Judy (Jerry)

Click, Karen (Todd) Martin; sons Mike (Laura) Scher, Rick (Tammi) Scher and Dave (Lianne) Scher; along with numerous grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; her parents Paul and Fern Rindero; brothers Ralph and Wally Rindero; and three half-brothers and three half-sisters.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 11 AM at Country Home Christian Church, 8415 N. Wall Street, Spokane, Washington 99208. You are invited to the Celebration of Life Service and the reception that will follow.
