Julianne Franzen-Meyer Obituary (Age 97) Julianne was born on October 8, 1915 in Dalkena, WA. Her parents, William and Elizabeth Snoey both emigrated from Holland in the late 1800s. She was the middle of 14 brothers and sisters. At some time they moved to the Spokane area where Julianne graduated from Lewis & Clark High School. She married Francis W. Franzen on July 4, 1937. They had 2 daughters Billy and Barbara. She and Francis ran a dairy farm until 1965. Julianne went back to school and got her nursing degree and was employed at Deaconess Hospital for 25 years. She belonged to the Windsor Grange for 50 years. She was known for her beautiful gardens of flowers as well as vegetables and fruits which she canned and made plenty of jams and jellies. She is survived by daughters Betty G. Griffiths of Burns, OR and Barbara A. Armstrong of Spokane, grandchildren Don McGlasson of MD, Carrie Wamstad of MN, Tracy Healy of Spokane, Julie Dalton of Spokane and John Griffiths of OR, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grand- children. Julianne is preceded in death by husbands Francis W. Franzen (1937-1976) and William Meyer (1985-1998), grandson Kevin McGlasson and 13 brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 3 at 1:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home.
