Kami Katherine Sanders Obituary
On Wednesday, January 1, 2014 Kami Katherine Sanders, mother, daughter and sister, entered into eternal peace at her home in Spokane, WA. She was born on January 2, 1969 in Seattle, WA to the late Lyle Sanders and Sharyl Evans (Austin). Kami grew up in Spokane and graduated from Mead High School in 1988. After high school she worked as a veterinarian technician for 18 years at the Animal Clinic of Spokane. During these years, she spent countless hours dedicating herself to nurturing all animals. She was a regular dog whisperer and eventually became known as ?squirrel lady? after many successful rescues and nursing babies back to health. Not only did she have a gift with animals but also with their owners, acting as a counselor on many occasions. Her warmth and personality were just some of many qualities which she had in abundance. She appreciated the simple things like good coffee and orchestrating family dinners. Kami was a rare and special person and you knew it while in her presence. She had a multitude of friends and the ability to extend herself to others. She radiated kindness and humor and brought laughter and smiles, everywhere she went. She had a talent of making quick friends with anyone in her path and she took great care in the nurturing of those friendships. Her friends were always drawn back for more helpings of Kami?s great company and infectious goofiness. Kami will be forever remembered by her mother, Sharyl Austin; step-father David Roser, wife Liane; sister, Heather Roser; daughter Rachel Hefling; partner, Nicole Eaton; uncle, Clyde Ries, wife Betty; additional aunts, uncles, cousins, countless dear friends who were just as close as family and certainly her beloved dogs, Buck, Claire & Jack. A memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane on Monday, January 6th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to her memory can be made to the Kami Sanders Benefit Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank.
