Katherine Diann Carter, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on October 10, 2025, in Spokane Washington at the age of 72.

Katherine was born on October 29, 1952, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to the late Deroy and Dora Dromgoole. Katherine graduated from Rogers High School in Spokane, WA, and dedicated 31 years of her life working as an accounting technician at the Spokane Public Defenders office. Her commitment and dedication to her work were exemplary, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In 1972, Katherine married the love of her life, Teddy Carter, and together they shared over five decades of love, joy, and companionship in Greenacres, WA.

Katherine was a remarkable individual, known for her warm and welcoming nature. She had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her kind and caring spirit endeared her to all who crossed her path, and she never met a stranger.

Outside of work, Katherine enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and playing bingo, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her cherished family and beloved dog. Her presence brought light and laughter to all gatherings, and her love knew no bounds.  May she rest in eternal peace.

Katherine will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 53 years, Teddy Carter; her loving sister, Loreta Whorton of Texas; her niece, Teresa Haire of Texas; her nephew, Brian Whorton of Texas; as well as her great-nephews, Bradyn Gachuzo, William Ashman, and Justin Oldham, and her great-nieces, Kayleigh Harsh and Stacia Oldham.

She was preceded in death by her parents and great-niece Bristol Oldham.

A funeral service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane Washington

on October 24th, 2025 from 9-10:15am followed by a graveside
