Katherine Jane Neunherz, age 77, passed away peacefully in Spokane, Washington, on September 7, 2025. She was born to Neil Neunherz and Thalia “Gibbs” Neunherz in Lakeview, Ohio in 1948, as the youngest of two children. She lived in Little Rock Arkansas for much of her life, until she relocated to Spokane, Washington to be near her family. While in Spokane, she maintained a close relationship with her brother, Edward Neunherz, and found a forever friendship with her sister-in-law Gayle Neunherz.
Katherine, known to family and friends for her kindness and warmth, attended Henderson State University in Conway, Arkansas. She went on to work in sales at Tipton and Hurst in Little Rock, Arkansas, the largest florist in Arkansas, and later at Appleway Florist in Spokane, Washington. Her work allowed her to connect with countless people, and she was remembered for her ever-present smile, attentive care, and dedication to service.
Katherine found joy in activities that reflected her eye for detail, in providing help to others, and visiting new places. She relished needlepoint and gardening. She enjoyed lending a hand to colleagues and friends. She was also an avid traveler, exploring, and cruising to destinations such as Hawaii, Japan, and Europe, creating cherished memories along the way.
Katherine is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Gayle Neunherz; her nephew, Greg Neunherz, and his wife, Darlene; as well as their children, Kaden and Alexis Neunherz. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Edward Neunherz.
The family extends our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Orchard Crest Assisted Living in Spokane Valley, and Hospice House of Spokane, for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided to Katherine, and family.
Katherine will be interred with her parents at Forest Hills Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas, in a private family ceremony.
