Kathern Lambdin Blaine Schmerer Obituary (Age 88) A lifetime resident of the Walla Walla community passed away October 30, 2013. She was born September 6, 1925 at Nine Mile, WA (near Touchet) to George and Kathern ?Kitty? Lambdin. She attended Wallula Grade School for a year and a half until the family moved to Two Rivers where she finished grade school and graduated from Columbia High School at Two Rivers in 1943. In 1944 the family moved to Walla Walla where she went to work for Walla Walla Meat and Cold Storage for 12 years until the closure of the business. In 1956 she went to work for Hill Mundell Dist. Co. and worked there for 3 ? years, then in 1960 she went to work for Baker Boyer National Bank as a teller, retiring in 1987. In 1949 she married Cecil Blaine and to this marriage a son Delbert ?Del? Blaine was born, they later divorced. In 1970 she married Harold Schmerer and they later divorced. Kathern is survived by her son Del Blaine of Spokane; a granddaughter Heather Meza of Walla Walla; great-grandsons Dylan and Zayne Rutter and great-granddaughter Julie Lynn Meza all of Walla Walla; 3 nephews George Lambdin of Reno, NV, Alan Lambdin of Seattle, Vernon and Julie Durand of Great Falls, MT; nieces Maryanne Durand of Spokane, Carol and Richard Maibe of Lynwood, WA. She loved flowers and liked to travel. At her request there will be no services, she will be buried at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of choice.
