Katie L. Harris-Benson Obituary (Age 75) Passed away December 23, 2011. She was born February 15, 1936 in Sweetwater, Texas to Walter Calvin and Vergil Birdie (Stout) Dunlap. She graduated high school in 1954 in Sweetwater. Katie married Jasper Harris in 1954 and they moved to Moses Lake, WA in 1955 and then to Spokane in 1958. She married Gary Benson in July 1990 in Spokane and retired from Safeway in 1994. She was active with Jacks and Jennys Square Dancing Club, loved to travel in their RV and camp and was dedicated to her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Gary Benson; sons Marty (Becky) of Spokane, Kirk (Ophelia) of Sweetwater, TX; brother Ernst Dunlap of Sweetwater, TX; grandchildren Kris and Amanda; great-grandchildren Trinity, Tristian and Colt. Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday 10-5 at Heritage with a Funeral Service at 1:00PM Friday, January 6, 2012 at Heritage Chapel.
