Keith Laurence Squires Obituary (Age 98) Keith Laurence Squires passed away on October 15, 2016 at the age of 98 in American Fork, UT. One of 7 children, he was born in Archer, Madison, Idaho to Laurence Calvin Squires and Julia Maud Wilcox on February 25, 1918. After graduating from Great Falls High School, he completed Barber College in Seattle. While working as a barber in Fort Benton, MT, he met Margaret Helen James, whom he would marry 7 years later. Keith joined the Army Air Corps on July 28, 1943 and became a fighter pilot in the 402nd Fighter Squadron, 370th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force, ETOUSA. After surviving a plane crash in England, he convalesced for 2 years in the Fort George Wright Army Hospital. He married Margaret Helen James in 1945, and they lived most of their lives in Spokane. Keith was a barber, grocery store owner, electrician, jeep dealer and realtor; but, he will be remembered for his sense of humor, recitations, art, and love of music. He began his favorite career when he and Margaret opened the Squires Music store. They delivered pianos and organs into homes throughout the Spokane area for 40 years. Dad taught many to play the organ, blessing the lives of countless people with music. He continued to play and sing beautifully the songs and hymns he loved, right up until his death. Keith and Margaret also spent two years in England serving a family history mission for the LDS Church. Keith was preceded in death by his wife Margaret after 64 years of marriage. Margaret passed away in 2009, a beautiful woman who lived a life of service to others. She is remembered in our hearts as a wonderful mother, exceptional seamstress and cook, skillful genealogist, businesswoman, and had an unwavering loyalty to, and love for, her family. Today, we will not say goodbye to our parents-goodbye implies that we will never see each other again. Instead, we will simply say, See you laterand, see you soon!
