Kelli Renee Beseler (they/them), lovingly known as Kels, age 27, passed away on December 31, 2025 in Spokane, Washington, while taking calls for the 988 crisis line. They are survived by their dog Charlie, three siblings and partners, their parents, a niece, and a variety of extended family.

Kelli grew up in Medical Lake and graduated from Medical Lake High School in 2016. They earned an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Eastern Washington University, and were only weeks away from earning their Master of Social Work (MSW). Kelli spent the last four years working in their chosen field, helping people from all walks of life. Most recently, they took calls for the 988 crisis line and supported the trans community through their work with TransWA. Kelli’s dream was to open a community center where people from all backgrounds could come to connect, work through pain and trauma, and learn new things together.

Kelli had a huge heart, an incredible sense of humor, and a deep love for their friends and family, as well as all animals (especially birds). They loved discovering new interests and hobbies. Their most recent passion was D&D, but over the years they also loved painting, Chinese and Korean dramas, anime, birding, crocheting, rock climbing, Spanish, Japanese, and so many more. They had a deep love for plants and trees, were an avid supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, and worked hard to help make the world a better place.

Kelli was well-loved by everyone who knew them. They brought joy, laughter, warmth, and a listening ear (among so many other things) to every situation.

We invite you to join us on April 25, 2026 in Spokane, Washington to celebrate Kelli’s life. After the gathering, Kelli’s family will plant a tree at their grave to honor Kelli’s wishes that their body be used to bring life to trees. Please save the date. More information will be shared as plans are made at www.tinyurl.com/CelebrateKelli.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Kelli’s memory to TransWA (tranwa.org) or The Arbor Day Foundation (arborday.org).
