Kerry Lee Souza Obituary (Age 59) Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) US Army Nurse Corp Our beloved wife, mother and daughter, Kerry Lee Souza of Spokane, Washington passed away on June 10, 2018 at her home on the Coeur d� Alene Lake. Kerry was born in Spokane, Washington, on September 17, 1958, and was the oldest of four sisters and one brother. Kerry attended school in Spokane and graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1976. She enlisted in the US Army and met Mark Kevin Souza and the two married on June 9, 1978. Kerry returned home upon completion of her military enlisted service and attended the Intercollegiate Center for Nursing in Spokane. Upon graduation she received a direct commission into the US Army Nurse Corp. On January 16, 1988 a daughter Kristen Lynn Souza was born to Kerry and Mark. Kerry honorably served her country, was a highly decorated leader and served in numerous overseas location to include Iraq, South Korea, Germany and other locations in Europe and Asia. Kerry completed her Masters in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University in 1994 and the US Amy Command and General Staff College in 1995. She retired from the US Army on January 1, 2004 with 24 years of honorable service to her country. Kerry, Mark and Kristen returned to Spokane, Washington where Kerry worked in the medical field. She was selected as the Senior Nurse Manager for the Spokane Veterans Hospital where she was responsible for the Operating Rooms, Same Day Surgery and Sterile Processing. Kerry is survived by her husband, Mark Kevin Souza, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired), her daughter Kristen Lynn Souza Bos and her husband David Bos, her mother Janice Morris and her husband Jerry, her sisters Jodi, Denise, Vivian, and Cindy and her brother Greg.
