Kientzene M. Felice Obituary Kientzene M. Felice died on February 20, 2016. She was born to Kientzler and Estelle Martin on April 15, 1932 in Star City, Arkansas, where she grew up as the youngest of six girls. She was christened Charlotte Kientzene, although she was known as �Pete� for most of her adolescence. She graduated from Star City High School where her interests were journalism and basketball. She was a star forward on the girls� basketball team � the �Lady Bulldogs� and was editor of the �Rocket� yearbook and the �Star� school newspaper. Playing on a team, plus the writing and management skills she developed, served her well in her future career. She also attended the University of Arkansas where she studied business. In 1955, Kientzene left Arkansas for the great northwest and joined her sister Fran in Spokane. She married James Felice and they had one daughter, Melinda. She was a successful business woman, starting her career as a secretary at Murphy Favre, Incorporated (later part of Washington Mutual) and retired in 1993 as the first female vice president of the Composite Group of Funds. Kientzene also broke barriers when she was the first single woman member of Manito Golf and Country Club. Her twin granddaughters, Katelyn and Taylor, were the greatest joy of her life. She was also a dog and sports lover, a gardener and a fabulous cook. She was also a member of a philanthropic organization called Gamma Epsilon, known as the Gamma Girls, and in a gourmet cooking club. She is preceded in death by her parents and four sisters: Mellie Clary, Odessa Muckelroy, Juanita Brockman, and Maureen Kirkpatrick. She is survived by her daughter Melinda (Patrick, Jr.) Kenney; granddaughters Katelyn and Taylor Kenney; her sister Frances Martin Smock (Spokane); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Pine ridge Alzheimer�s Special Care Center and Horizon Hospice for their wonderful care. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, Washington. A reception will immediately follow at Manito Golf and Country Club.
