December 06, 1920 - November 13, 2009

Kimo "Kim" Nathaniel Obituary (Age 88) Kim, as he was known to everyone, passed away Nov 13, 2009. Parents Arita and Dimitrios migrated from Thessalonica, Greece. Born in Manchester, NH, Dec 6, 1920, he grew up with siblings Katherine, Genoula and George. He played high school sports and joined the Army Air Corps in 1942. He became a bombardier aboard B-25s and flew intense combat missions in World War II where he received three air medals and a silver star for bravery. Assigned to Spokane for R&R, he met Patricia Dittmer and they whisked off to San Antonio, TX, and were married 64 years ago. Kim served 22 years in the USAF in Supply, ROTC, as a Navigator aboard B-47s and B-52s, and as Chief of Plans at Fairchild AFB before retiring in 1963 as a Major. Prior to retiring, Kim and Pat had two children Steven and Kris who Kim absolutely adored. After the AF, Kim put his degree in graphic arts to work but moved into banking at SeaFirst where he found his second career. As a loan and credit officer for almost 20 years Kim knew and helped countless people and businesses in the Spokane area. Always a kind and gentle soul, Kim was very active in his beloved Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He was treasurer for years but most loved making coffee and chatting with everyone. Kim enjoyed playing bridge, fishing, golfing and traveling. Kim and Pat made many treks to visit their grandkids Scott, Jon and Lauren Roark. Where ever he went Kim always had his trusty pipe, bag of tobacco, warm heart, and a kind word or snappy comment on life. His generosity, easy going nature and huge loving heart will be sorely missed. Viewing will be at Heritage Mon and Tues 10 am - 5 pm. Services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1703 N. Washington, on Wed, Nov 18 at 11 am. Many thanks to Hospice of Spokane.
