Larry L. Turney Obituary (Age 74) Larry was born in Laflore County, OK to Richard Aberham and Etta Ethel Turney on January 14, 1940. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 7, 2014 in Spokane, WA. He was raised in Porterville, CA until 1966, when he moved his family to Spokane and was a plumber by trade. Larry later lived in the Newport area for over 20 years and spent time as a Pend Oreille County Police Officer. The last 20 plus years of his life he spent back in Spokane near his family. Larry was a loving and devoted husband and was very proud of his children and grandkids. He was a master leather craftsman and also enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors and truly was a "Jack of all Trades". He never met a stranger, and loved to talk to people over a cup of coffee. Larry was preceded in death by his wife Debby of 39 years. He is survived by his children: Cindy (Jeff) Benesch, John (Holly) Turney and Kevin Turney; grandchildren: Stephanie (Casey) Ford, Chris Benesch, and Chrissy Turney, two great-granddaughters and sisters Claudia and Lagina. Memorial contributions may be made in Larry's name to Hospice of Spokane, Hospice House, 121 S. Arthur, Spokane, WA 99202.
