Laura "Ruth" Mitchell Carr Obituary Ruth was born March 8, 1918 in Vermillion, SD to Claude and Laura (Blair) Huetson and passed away July 30, 2009 in Spokane, WA. She married Albert Lee Mitchell October 20, 1934 and they had three children; Kathi Hurley of Camdenton, MO, Terry Mitchell (Juanita) of Long Beach, CA and Deanne Blackwell (Don) of Palm Springs, CA. She and Al moved to Spokane in 1955 from Beresford, S.D. where they had farmed. Ruth worked as a medical secretary for 31 years and her hobbies were fishing and traveling with her husband on vacation. Al passed away in 1978. Ruth retired in 1987 and in 1989 she married George Carr and they enjoyed traveling to the warm areas in the winter. George passed away in 2003. Private graveside services will be held for Ruth. The family suggests memorials be sent to Country Homes Christian Church, N. 8425 Wall St., Spokane, WA 99208.
