Lavonne Mae Johnson Shaw

Lavonne Mae Johnson Shaw, 95, of Spokane, Washington, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026.

Lavonne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was funny, loving, and strong, she had a way of keeping everyone on their toes, especially her family. She lived life with personality, independence, and a spirit that made her impossible to forget.

Lavonne was the beloved wife of William Shaw, who preceded her in death. She was the mother of Sandra Ogle, Brion Shaw, and Mark Shaw, and was preceded in death by her sons Craig Shaw and Michael Shaw.

She was a proud grandmother to Adam Shaw, Evan Shaw, Hailey Holda, Andy Shaw, Kealey Corey, Emily Shaw, Erica Pieratt, Kayleigh Sidhu, and Mackensie Riley. Her family was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she loved spending time with those she loved most.

Lavonne was a first-generation American of Norwegian heritage. She grew up in Spokane and attended Rogers High School, where she participated in many school activities and made memories that remained a part of her story throughout her life. She was also the twin sister of Leroy Johnson, a special bond that remained an important part of her life.

Lavonne loved the things that made life enjoyable. She loved to shop, had a wonderful eye for interior decorating, and took pride in making her surroundings beautiful. She especially enjoyed happy hour at her favorite restaurants, surrounded by family and friends, sharing food, conversation, and laughter.

Those who knew Lavonne will remember her strong personality, her quick sense of humor, her love for her family, and the way she always made sure life was never boring. She was never afraid to speak her mind and had a gift for making sure everyone around her stayed on their toes. Beneath it all was a deep love for the people who mattered most to her.

Lavonne leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply, but who will carry her memory, her stories, her humor, and her unmistakable spirit with them. Her 95 years were filled with love, laughter, family, friendship, and a life lived in her own wonderfully unforgettable way.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
