Lawrence Gerald Cunningham Obituary Longtime Spokane resident, Lawrence (Bill) Cunningham, passed away on the morning of June 11, 2015. Bill was born in 1920 to Glenn and Edith Cunningham. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and University of Washington before serving in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945. In 1955, he married Mary Alice Brown (d.1997) and together they raised four children. During this time, he built his career in real estate and mortgage activities. Bill retired as Vice President of Pacific First Federal in 1980, but continued real estate appraising on his own for an additional 15 years. Bill remarried in 2003 to Lorna Stevenson and together they have spent the last 12 years living a full life among family and friends. He enjoyed bridge, golf, and his passion, sailing. He was a member of the Spokane Sailing Club, which established Arrowhead Beach on Lake Coeur d�Alene in 1960. Bill enjoyed every summer there since and considered his �beach friends� family. He is preceded in death by sisters Jean (Malcolm) Krier and Pat Thayer and niece Ann Thayer. Bill is survived by his wife Lorna Stevenson; children, Dana (Leann) Cunningham, Edie (Clay) Lewis, Cathy Akers and Mary Lynn DuBoyce; grandchildren, Cody (Ariel), Travis and Brian Lewis, Sean and Hannah Akers, and Anaya, Arielle and Naomi DuBoyce; great-granddaughter, Lucy Lewis; Lorna�s children, Patty Scheffield, Tom (Gail) Stevenson, Scott (Kristen) Stevenson, Richard (Wendy) Stevenson, Louise (John) Everett; Lorna�s ten grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jim Thayer; niece, Patty (Tom) Krier Connelly; and nephews Jim (Margey) and Jeff Krier, and Jamie, John, Tommy and Mike (Kristy) Thayer. Services will be held at the Rockwood Forest Estates Community Center, 2903 E. 25th Ave, Spokane, WA 99223, on Sunday, June 21st at 1:00 p.m. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Lawrence, please visit our Tree Store.
