Leah Rae Critchfield Obituary In loving memory of Leah Rae (Connolly) Critchfield, who went peacefully in her sleep to be with her Heavenly Father on March 3,2010 in Kennewick, WA. Leah was born in Toledo, Ohio, March 3 1938. She was raised in Twin Falls, ID where she met her husband, Arthur D. Critchfield. They moved to Spokane, WA with their 2 young daughters and over the next several years added 4 more daughters to their family. Leah was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived a rich, full life filled with love and laughter. Her smile was infectious and caused others to smile around her. As the matriarch, Leah?s love and devotion to her family was evident in her overwhelming dedication to all of us. She was a homemaker, who took pride and joy in every aspect of her children?s lives. She was active in all their school and outside activities. Her joy of reading has passed down through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took great joy in creating a comfortable and supportive home. She was greatly skilled in handling medical emergencies, peacemaking, sewing, quilting, gardening and listening. Her words of encouragement, guidance and heartfelt concern made you aware of her love for all those around her. No matter was too small or trivial for her to express her excitement and joy. Leah, with great love and gratitude for your unconditional love and dedicated years of selfless service, you will be deeply missed, always cherished and never forgotten. Your gentle spirit and love for all of us is forever imprinted on our hearts. We are comforted with the knowledge you instilled in us of an Eternal Loving Father and find great comfort in knowing we will be together again throughout eternity. Those left to cherish fond memories of Leah include her loving spouse of 52 years Arthur, her six daughters, Kellye (John), Denise (Randy) Jamieson, Janys (Bret) Hutchings, LeAnn (Daryl) Anderson, Amy and Brenda; her mother Dorothy Connolly; her sister Eileene (Gary) Whitely and brother Larry (Pam) Connolly; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Connolly, grandson Ian, and great granddaughter, Taelor. A celebration of her life will be held at the LDS Church @ 1411 E. 16th (Evergreen Building), Spokane, WA on March 8, 2010. Internment will be on March 9, 2010 in Oakley, ID. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer?s Association ?.of Spokane.
