Leland Paul Jones

Our Beloved Son

Leland Paul Jones,  passed away on October 25, 2024.

Leland was 13 years old. Born on December 17, 2010 in Spokane, Washington to the parents of Stacey and Joseph Cummins.

Leland attended the Mead School District, and was an 8th grader but attended school at home. We were blessed with so many amazing therapists throughout the years helping him learn & grow.

Leland was afflicted with Dravet’s Syndrome, which is a severe form of epilepsy. His condition left him without the abilities to walk or talk. Though he could not tell his loved ones how much he loved them, he showed it every day through his brightness of spirit, and with the pure joy in the way he lived life. His laughter was something that would light up the room and would instantly have everyone around him laughing. Just being in his presence had the power to lift your spirits on the toughest of day. He was quite simply the most beautiful human being ever.

Leland enjoyed watching paw patrol, being with his family and making everyone around him happy and joyful. His family and friends will always remember him as a Beautiful shining light, pure spirit and overall wonderful child.

Leland is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted parents, Stacey and Joe; his siblings, Zanna Jones, Tristan Cummins, Lily Jones, and Braydon Cummins; and his grandparents, Mark and Donna Jones, who played a special role in his care. He is surrounded in memory by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who shared in his life and supported him with love.

Celebration of life is scheduled for 1pm on November 8th, at Heritage Funeral Home.

In lieu of Flowers, donations can be sent to the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest.
