Lenhard A. Anderson Obituary MSgt. (Ret.) Lenhard passed away peacefully on August 13, 2018 surrounded by his family. Lenhard was born on November 19, 1930 to Velma and Ray Anderson of Chewelah Wa. He was preceded in death by his father Ray, his stepfather Joseph Tucker, his mother Velma, his 1st wife Dorothy and his wife Bettie, three sisters, Dorothy, Barbara, and Marilyn, his brother Robert, and his son�s, Tim and Danny. He is survived by his sister Rita, his children Cheryl Jennings, Sandy Gould, Mike Anderson, DD Ortega, Carry Bost, his step-children Liz Olver, Janice Olver, and Chrystal Young and many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Lenhard was a student at Garfield Elementary and North Central High. He was a career soldier in the US Army where he obtained the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring in 1978. He had tours of duty in Germany, Thialand, and Vietnam. He was awarded many medals including the Army Commendation and Bronze Star. Prior to serving in the regular Army, he served eight years in the Washington State Army National Guard. After retiring from the Army, Lenhard worked as postman for the US Post Office and was a business owner. Lenhard loved his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker. He had a sharp wit which will be missed by his family and friends. He will be laid to rest at Fairmont Cemetery beside the river on Saturday, August 18th at 10:30 with a celebration of life to follow at the VFW Post 1435, 212 S.
