Leola Gustafson Obituary GUSTAFSON, Leola (Age 87) Leola Fern Gustafson was born August 29, 1923 to Anderson and Opal Burgin in Pendleton, OR. Our loving mother, grand-mother and great-grand-mother went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 16, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. Leola graduated from Pendleton High School in 1941. She met her husband, Albert J. Gustafson, in Pendleton while he was stationed at Pendleton Airfield. They were married August 23, 1944 at Pendleton Assembly of God church. They moved to Spokane when Al was discharged from the Army, where they raised their family and lived for 68 years. Leola retired from Old National Bank, having worked in several departments and positions. Her spare time was devoted to service in the Children's Ministries and Women's Ministries areas of Glad Tidings Assembly of God for over 50 years, as well as serving as Financial Secretary for many years. Leola was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Gustafson. She is survived by her son Albert Carl (Mary) of Spokane, daughters; Elvera of Hampton, VA, and Ruth (Michael) of Reno, NV, five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23rd, from 1:00PM to till 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 24th at 11:00AM at Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
