Leroy Edward "Lee" Taylor Obituary
(Age 77) Leroy Edward Taylor passed away May 22, 2017 in Spokane Valley, WA surrounded by his family. Lee was born February 29, 1940 in Oklahoma City, OK to Vernon and Dorothy Taylor. He attended school in Oklahoma and went on to join the US Navy and Marine Corp. He moved to Southern California where he worked for a few years in waste water management and then managed a concrete company for a number of years. Lee married Carolyn Marie Taylor in 1965 in Nevada. He owned Mobile Home Sales Co. until he retired and moved to Medical Lake, WA. Lee worked part time as a school bus driver and Enterprise driver. He loved fishing, golfing and spending time with family. Lee served on the Planning Commission in Hemet, CA as well as in Medical Lake and was the state of California Senior Legislator in Riverside, CA. He also enjoyed volunteering at his church and served on the volunteer Fire Dept. in Big Bear City, CA.
Lee is survived by his wife, Carolyn Taylor of Spokane Valley; children, Marty (Tami) Lawrence of Medical Lake, Michael Taylor of Medical Lake, John (Melinda) Lawrence of Cherry Valley, CA and Eddie (Michelle) Taylor of Hemet, CA; as well as eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 6th at 11:30am followed by a family graveside at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Society, www.good-sam.com or to Kindred Hospice.
