LeVern Stanley Stevens Obituary (Age 90) LeVern passed away July 2, 2010 at his home in Spokane. He was born January 1, 1920 in Hanley Falls, MN to James and Clara (Jacobsen) Stevens. He graduated from Hanley Falls High School. LeVern married Ruth E. Foss at her family home in 1941. They farmed in Hanley Falls for ten years, and he managed Great Plains Lumber in Clarkfield, MN. The family moved to Spokane in 1961 and he worked for Western Pine Lumber, then for the City of Spokane in road maintenance until his retirement in 1984. Following the death of his first wife of 48 years, he married Viola Collison in 1990 and they were married for 16 years. LeVern enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his family. He was a kind and generous man with a gentle spirit. LeVern was a member of Open Bible Church for over 45 years and he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth E. Foss Stevens, his second wife Viola Collison Stevens, sister Arlene Johnson and grandson Jeffrey Todd Stevens. He is survived by son Gary (Sandee) Stevens; stepdaughter Peggy (Phill) Orrin; stepson Darrell (Nancy) Collison; brothers Clayton (Doris) Stevens and Orville (Joan) Stevens; grandchildren Cindy (Mike) Johnson, Cherie (Relly) Fenrich, Kelly (Rick) Morgan; step-grandchildren Traci Gering, David (Lisa) Nance, and numerous other step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren Chase and Chelsea Christianson, Ben and Samantha Morgan and Maddie Fenrich. We love you and you will be dearly missed. Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 8th from 10:00am to 5:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 2:00pm at Heritage Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Turning Point Open Bible Church or a charity of your choice.
