Linda Chipman Burgin Obituary Linda Chipman Burgin passed away peacefully on December 14, 2017 in Spokane, Washington with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Linda was born in Vallejo, California and was raised on the family ranch in Napa by her parents Art and Dorothy Chipman. Linda is survived by her daughter Tammy Burgin Reitzel (Mark) and her son Jeff Burgin, her granddaughters Cate and Calleigh Burgin, her three brothers, Charles, John and Tom Chipman, and one sister, Patty Knudson, and numerous nieces and nephews all who loved her dearly. Linda was a generous and fun-loving grandmother. She was always up for an adventure or road trip. Linda attended Ridgeview Junior High and Napa High School and she was married to her high school sweetheart, William Burgin, in the Chapel of the University of Pacific in Stockton, California. They built their home on the family ranch in Napa, where they raised their two children Tammy and Jeff Burgin. Linda, along with her daughter Tammy, had a passion for raising and showing champion caliber quarter horses and Welsh ponies throughout her life. She had a kind and nurturing heart for animals. In 1982 Linda and Bill moved to Spokane, WA and continued to work in the family business, operating and then owning Chipman Moving & Storage. They purchased a house on Saxon Drive, which would be the family home for the next thirty-six years. When Lindas husband passed away in 1992, she became the driving force of Chipman United in Spokane. For the next 25 years she ran the business, serving as a role model and mentor for other female professionals in the area. With the help of her son Jeff, they continued to expand the business. Linda and Jeffs companies consistently won national awards from United and Mayflower for quality service and sales growth. Linda received the State of Washingtons Business Woman of the Year award in Seattle, Washington and she served as President of the Washington Movers Association. Linda was a member of Executive Women International and an active supporter of the American Cancer Society. There will be a Celebration of Lindas life for family, friends, and business associates at the Spokane Club on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 3-5 pm. Lindas family has requested donations to SCRAPS (Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service) in lieu of flowers.
