Linda Love

Linda Love, our much-loved mom, sister, aunt, grandma, and great grandma passed away on March 21, 2026, with her children by her side. She was 78.

Linda was born on April 8, 1947, to Geraldine (Krous) and Dan Crooks. She was the oldest of two children; her brother Arthur “Butch” Crooks preceded her in death in 2023.

Linda married Don Love and together they had two daughters and a son. She was a dedicated mom and homemaker, taking care and supporting everyone’s interests, activities, and appetites. She sat in a lot of bleachers, cheering all of us on. She liked to cook and collect recipes, and her canned dill pickles were everyone’s favorites.

Linda loved her family and family get-togethers. She was especially close with her mom Gerry and stepdad Dick. She was thrilled when she and our dad bought the cabin next to her mom’s and aunt’s twin cabins, where she spent countless summers surrounded by family. She also stayed close to her dad’s side of the family—a big, boisterous, group of close-knit characters who were the source of many good times and fond memories. With her kids and grandkids, she treasured the annual trips that became beloved traditions—Art in the Park in Boise, Shop ‘til You Drop in Portland, and Green Bluff trips in the fall.

The lake was Linda’s happy place. She loved nothing better than being at the lake and having her kids and their kids and friends there. She loved the activity, energy, and conversations. She loved reading, visiting, and drinking wine on the deck and fixing meals that we could all enjoy together.

Mom is loved and missed dearly by her three children, Deena Orton (John), Brenda Marcum (Bill), and Mike Love; her grandchildren Hanna, Taylor, Dylan, Jessica, and Jonathan; her great grandchildren Maison, Lincoln, and Luna; her “best cousin” Pam Nebelsieck (Mel); and her special niece Angie Comer (Fred). Mom was also blessed with special family friends, Pandy and Gary Lindner, and wonderful neighbors, John and Christina Smith, who brightened her days with their love, friendship, and support.

Mom’s celebration of life and internment will be Thursday, July 2, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Terrace 511 N Government Way. Spokane, WA 99224.
