Lois Gockley Obituary Our beloved mother entered into her eternal rest on October 7, 2018 at her residence in Spokane Wa. She was born February 20, 1916 in Tolley North Dakota to Carl and Mabel Owenson. She also had one sister Vivian who she remained close to. The love of her church, music, travel, friends and family inspired her memories and stories she loved to tell. One of her favorite stories was of growing up in North Dakota. Her father would pack up and take the young family in a 1920 touring car through the rugged Glacier Park wilderness on undeveloped dirt and gravel roads where flat tires were common and no road signs were present. Her family took many of these trips, usually to warmer California where they eventually settled. During her college years, she traveled and sang with the St. Olaf,s choir. She met the love of her life Leslie Gockley in Long Beach Ca. where they married in 1939. They moved with their 3 children in 1956 to Spokane where she remained until her death. She was proceeded in death by her husband Leslie after 65 years of marriage.. She is survived by her 2 sons Michael Gockley of Spokane, Paul (Pat) Gockley of Amanda Park, Wa., and daughter Mary (Dean) Kabanuk of Queen Creek Az., 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her kind, caring, and generous heart. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 20, 3pm, at St Luke Lutheran Church.
